Park Now Open With COVID-19 Updated Safety Guidelines

Welcome Guests.  If you’ve been following the developing details of our park opening in our blog, you’ll know that we’ve been working hard to get ready for this season in addition to continually monitoring the COVID-19 recommendations from our Heath Departments.

Park Open

The private tenting area will remain closed.  Our private tenting area is referred to as group camping.  Due to the nature of this type of camping, large groups of people would typically gather for a holiday weekend.  We have decided that this goes against Provincial Guidelines where gatherings of 10 or more is not permitted.  Other types of camping are permitted however we will continue work towards filling our seasonal vacancies with new park guests who will enter into a contract for the remainder of the season.  We are open and following current health guidelines.

Public and social gatherings

Regardless of where you live in Ontario, social gathering limits will be expanded to up to 10 people. People must still practice physical distancing, by keeping at least two metres away from others outside of their direct household. This change to social gathering size will apply to people across the province, regardless of whether their region has moved into Stage 2.

Beaches, parks and camping

In Stage 1, private campgrounds were permitted to allow only 3-point hookup trailer sites for guests with a seasonal contract. In Stage 2, Ontario Parks campgrounds and private campgrounds can also open for recreational vehicle, car camping and all other types of camping.  Blue Heron Trailer Park will not be opening the private tenting area (group camping).

  • Campers must adhere to social gathering size restrictions and maintain two-metre physical distancing with people outside their household and when outside of their campsites.

About social circles

As we continue our shared fight against coronavirus (COVID-19), social circles are a way to safely expand the number of people with whom you can come in close contact. Think of your social circle as the people you can hug and touch, or those who can become part of your daily and weekly routines.

You can now establish a family or social circle of no more than 10 people who can interact with one another without physical distancing.

Everyone living in the same household is in a social circle. Remember that your social circle can include fewer than 10 people.  Each person agrees to join only one circle, and physically distance with anyone outside the circle.

Find out more about social circles from the Ontario website.

Limited Visitors at Blue Heron

The only people allowed in your trailer are are the same people you live with at home. We want to ensure the safety of our staff and guests. Limiting the number of people who come to the park will help to control the spread of COVID-19. Seasonal contract guests may bring members of their social circle to the park, however they cannot stay overnight. At this time we are asking that you not bring other visitors (who are not in your social circle) to your trailer.

How We Will Stay Safe

COVID-19 poster Blue Heron Trailer ParkWe need to ensure that all of us in the park stay safe.  Blue Heron Trailer Park Staff and Guests will continue to follow guidelines set by the Ontario Ministry of Health.

It is extremely important that we follow the guidelines.  All of our safety and future depend on our actions.  We look forward to seeing you, although at a distance.  You will be greeted with a friendly wave.
