Whether or not they know it, for almost a decade, area seniors have been getting regular support from Blue Heron Trailer Park.

Carrol Ann Ottolini, owner of the trailer park, has donated a total of $13,000 to Haldimand Norfolk Community Senior Support Services’ Dunnville branch over the past eight years.

“As a nonprofit organization, (Senior Support) raises funds each year to assist with the balancing of our budget,” said Rhonda Geyer, program manager with the organization.

She said funds that come into the organization go toward items like wheelchair-accessible vans, and help subsidize services like Meals on Wheels, transportation, the adult day program, and the Diners Club.

“These valuable donations assist in enabling and enhancing the vital home support programs our clients use to help them remain independent in their own homes as long as possible,” Geyer said.
