Some New Trends, Some Continued
Toronto RV Show at the Congress Centre 2016

Our friends at Niagara Trailer are ready to help.  At the Toronto RV Show this past weekend, Kevin and the crew were on hand to answer questions and show off all the new models.  They nearly brought an entire village of travel trailers, fifth wheels and hybrids.  There was something to suit everyone’s taste and budget.

Some of the trends noticed at this year’s show include:

  • Residential style fridge and freezer combination in mid-range fifth-wheels.  They have a larger capacity and are offered by brands such as Kitchenaid, Samsung and LG.
  • Under-counter LED strips add a light accent around the kitchen.  Nice to see where you are going without having to turn on a big light.
  • LED display for freshwater, gray and black tank monitoring.
  • Floor coverings that look like hardwood but are synthetic and strategically placed in high traffic areas.  This is a much better choice than carpet which tends to show early signs of wear near the kitchen and stairs.
  • Centre islands in the kitchen for larger fifth wheels and travel trailers.  This style mimics the residential kitchen.
  • Bedroom slides on most fifth-wheels.  Usually adding 12 to 20 square feet of space with one slide.
  • LED lighting is now standard in all the fixtures inside the trailers.
  • Front living rooms continue to be popular with fifth-wheel buyers.  These tend to be offered on the higher end models.
  • Outdoor kitchens are still trendy.  Some even have a TV so you can cook for your friends and family and not miss the game.
  • Lower under-cabinet lighting will keep you from stubbing your toe in the kitchen.

As a reminder to our guests, Niagara Trailer has been an excellent partner delivering value and great service for new sales, installations and repair.  Looking for a new or pre-owned RV?
